This rare aroid is an elusive cultivar to find - but we managed! Their pedate leaves show birds'-foot-like fronds with oodles of white variegation, contrasting with the mid-green chlorophyll-filled parts of the glossy leaves. It is a little more high maintenance than most philodendrons due to the high level of variegation; it needs more light to compensate for the white areas but can still scorch in harsh direct sun, so you'll need to find the right balance in your home. A standout addition to your houseplant collection, choose this gorgeous plant to add an unusual hint of ghostly pallor to your luch indoor jungle.

Scientific Name
Philodendron squamiferum x pedatum 'Florida Ghost' (tree-hugger: scale-bearing species crossed with pedate-leaved species, cultivar: Florida ghost)

This plant is a hybrid between P. squamiferum and P. pedatum.

Common Name
Philodendron Florida Ghost, White Ghost Philodendron

Origin
This plant grows natively in tropical forests of South and Central America.

Light
Bright indirect light is still the best level of light for this plant, but it can benefit from a splash of morning of evening sun due to the high level of variegation. If you notice new leaves coming through with less variegation, it's likely that the plant is getting too little light.

Water
Allow the top two inches of soil to dry out in between waterings (these plants are easy-going so if you wait a little longer to water don't panic!). Make sure they don't sit soggy, and water less in shadier spots.

Humidity
This plant will appreciate above-average humidity, such as in a kitchen or bathroom, but will do fine with average household humidity levels too. If you notice the edges getting brown and crispy, it may benefit from the use of a pebble tray to increase local humidity.

Soil
Use a chunky, well draining mix; one designed for Monsteras or Philodendrons will be ideal. Repot every two years in spring as the plant grows.

Food
Feed every four waters in summer, reduce to every six in autumn and winter.

Temperature
Average household temperatures of about 18-28° are fine- try not to place somewhere where temperatures dip below 12°C for extended periods.

Pet-safe
No, this plant is toxic to pets and small humans.

Sprouts Top Tips
This plant has more variegation than most philodendrons, so will need more light; finding the balance where it sustains its variegation but doesn't scorch is important.
Water with tepid rather than cold water to avoid shocking the plant. Rotate it now and then to promote even growth. Avoid draughty spots.

Strong and holds up to aggressive chewing
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
This was a fast favorite for our extremely aggressive chewer ('indestructible' toys are typically destroyed within hours)... this has survived about a week and still going strong.

My dog is a very aggressive chewer.
Color: Blue
My dog is an aggressive chewer and this lasted about 3 weeks before he started to get into the plastic and I had to throw away. It lasted longer than other chew toys so it was good. However the tail makes it easier for him to chew off into pieces. He gets nervous and needs to chew on something. I find the hard cheese sticks a better option for his nervousness.

From Puppy Teething to Adult Favorite – 7 Years Later
Color: Teething Stick, Color: Teething Stick
This has been one of the best toys I’ve ever bought! My dog has loved the Pupstages Cool Teething Stick since she was a tiny puppy, and now at 7 years old, it’s still one of her absolute favorites. It’s been amazing for soothing teething when she was little, and now she still enjoys chewing on it and carrying it around. It’s held up surprisingly well over the years, especially considering how much use it’s gotten. I also love that you can cool it for extra relief—it really helped during those puppy stages. If you’re looking for a toy that lasts and actually becomes a long-term favorite, this is definitely it. Highly recommend for both puppies and even older dogs who still love a good chew! 🐶

LOVE this tough toy! My teething puppy is still enjoying it!
Color: Hedgehog
LOVE the hedgehog! Very tough! My dachshund has not been able to chew off any of the 'nubs', and does she try! lol The only thing is, the first thing she did was chew off the nose, but I discarded it and watched her closely to make sure she didn't chew off any more, and no, its still being chewed on. Wish I could find more toys like this one!!

Perfect First Toy for Tiny Puppies – Lightweight, Engaging, and a Great Value
Color: Teething Stick, Color: Teething Stick
This Cool Teething Stick has been the absolute best first toy for our 1.5 pound puppy! It’s incredibly lightweight, making it easy for even the tiniest pups to pick up, carry, and play with independently. The soft crinkle sound keeps him entertained without being overwhelming, and the little ribbon ends plus the triangular shapes add just the right amount of texture and interest. For the quality, design, and how much joy it brings, the price is unbeatable. At $4.99, this is an easy must-buy for anyone with a young or very small puppy. Highly recommend for a tiny puppy. I do think the durability could be an issue for a large puppy. Keep in mind this puppy is under 2 pounds.
