Closely related to Epipremnum pictum Argyraeus and Trebie, Silvery Ann is predominantly silvery on top of heart shaped green leaves. The leaves get more silvery as they mature. This plant is ideal as a hanging plant but can also climb up a moss pole.

Silvery Ann has smaller leaves compared to Trebie and is not one of the fastest growing plants, however its stems can eventually trail up to 3 metres in length. Trim back to maintain shape and create a lush plant.

Other common names of this stunning plant include Silver Vine, Silver Cloud, Silk Pothos and Silver Philodendron. Pictus means 'painted' and is a reference to its lovely silvery variegation.

How to root your Scindapsus Pictus Silvery Ann cutting

Like Pothos, Scindapsus is one of the easiest indoor plants to propagate and you can choose to root your cutting in soil, water or in your choice of propagation substrate such as sphagnum moss, fern fibre, leca etc.

Water propagation is the fastest and easiest way to root your Silvery Ann cutting. Fill your glass or jar with filtered water or allow the tap water to sit out in the open for a while to let the chlorine dissipate. Submerge the lower 1-2 nodes of your pothos cutting in the water with the leaves up above. Make sure that no leaves are touching the water as this could lead to rot.

Then, place in a warm spot that receives plenty of bright, indirect light (no direct sun though) and change the water regularly until the roots are at least an inch long and your cutting is ready to be planted in soil.

Plant care

Water / Humidity: This plant is very drought tolerant, so water sparingly, especially in the winter. Let the first 4-6 cm of soil dry fully between waterings. Tolerant with normal room humidity conditions.

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal, but also tolerant of lower light conditions (will grow slower).

Soil / Nutrients: Well draining soil. You can apply a few drops of general houseplant fertilizer to the soil once a month from spring to summer, reduce nutrients during autumn and winter.

Temperature: The range of 15 - 25°C is ideal.

Cutting info

Great for SuperChewers. Keeps my Golden busy.
Color: Bear, Color: Bear
My dog loves it and it keeps her busy for a while. She actually pulls it out of her toy basket and brings it to me when she wants it filled. I break her treats into some pieces that are easy to get and some a little harder. This way she doesn’t get them too fast or loose interest if they’re harder to get. Also, she’s had it for 3 months and there’s barely a mark on it and she’s still a puppy that chews her toys to pieces.

Mostly happy
Color: Grape
Have a 1 1/2 yr old Belgian Malinois who needs things to do. I bought these and he loved it. Bad thing, it took him 1 day to chew the rope off both grape and pineapple. The stems on the cherry were also chewed off. The rest of the toy is intact and he still loves it.

Came apart.
Color: Cherries
We were playing with it and the green part pulled off of the red part. I'm pretty sure that is not supposed to happen. I took the green part away from the dog because that part is too small for my pup to play with. But we continue to play with the red part. My dog likes the texture and the bounciness.
