Zamioculcas zamiifolia ‘Supernova’, often called the Black ZZ Plant, is a striking houseplant with glossy foliage that matures from fresh green to a deep chocolate-black colour. Its bold upright stems and dramatic dark leaves make it a perfect architectural plant for modern interiors.
Native to eastern Africa, the ZZ Plant is famous for being one of the toughest and easiest houseplants to grow. Its thick waxy leaves and underground rhizomes store water, allowing the plant to tolerate low light, dry air and occasional neglect. This makes Zamioculcas ‘Supernova’ an excellent choice for beginners as well as busy homes and offices.
With its sculptural form and glossy foliage, this elegant plant works beautifully on the floor, on plant stands or in large decorative pots where its dramatic leaves can really stand out.
Light: Bright indirect light to low light. Avoid strong direct sunlight.
Watering: Allow the top inch of soil to dry completely before watering again.
Feeding: Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced houseplant fertiliser.
