The Japanese Maple is native to Japan, North Korea, South Korea, and eastern Mongolia. They have been in temperate areas around the world since the 1800s, and many varieties are found in bonsai collections and as focal points in gardens worldwide because of their attractive leave shapes and stunning colors.

Beni Hime is one of the smallest dwarf Japanese maples with red color. The name translates to “Red Dwarf”.

The leaves are green/ red in spring and summer, turning rich red and purple in fall. Deciduous, keep outdoors.

The leaves have a smooth texture giving this species the name Smooth Japanese Maple. 

Its leaves turn from red in the spring, to green in the summer, to a deep red and purple in the fall.

This specimen has been lovingly paired with an interesting rock, giving is a natural look that is beyond compare.  It looks like it belongs next to a waterfall, on a misty mountain somewhere in Asia.

It is a deciduous bonsai tree and should be kept outdoors.
