Dragon Tree (Dracaena draco) is a striking, slow-growing succulent tree with a single thick trunk that eventually branches into a broad, umbrella-like canopy. Its sword-shaped, blue-green leaves grow in dense rosettes, and older plants may produce orange berries and red resin.
Prefers full sun to light shade and well-drained soil. Drought-tolerant and ideal for dry gardens, containers, or as a sculptural focal point. Dragon Tree is slow-growing (1m per year in the ground), and can be kept shorter by planting in containers. They can live for hundreds of years in the right conditions!
Mature size: Up to 4–10m tall × 2–4m wide, much smaller if constrained
