Various pine and pine barks will work with varying degrees of success with orchids. However, for best results, we choose to use pine bark pieces from mature Loblolly and Southern Yellow Pine trees that will provide even chunks to provide enough aeration.USES Works well with: Cattleyas, Phalaenopsis, Dendrobiums, Paphiopedilums, Oncidiums, and All Epiphytic Orchids. It is also perfect for other plants that have special roots that feed from the air and need air flow Tillandsia (air plants) and bromeliads
TIP: You may want to soak your bark in hot water for half an hour before potting so that it will more easily absorb water.
